We realize that it is difficult for some people to set aside a day to take a in-person course. With our online Permit to Carry Course, you can take one section at a time in the comfort of your own home. We designed this course to be as simple as humanly possible.
This is our latest version of the online / Hybrid Carry Course which requires approximately 4 hours of self-study, take and pass 4 short online quizzes on the content presented in the course and an in-person Range Qualification Exercise. It has been UPDATED FOR ALL NEW LAWS PASSED by the Minnesota Legislature in 2023, new court cases of 2024, and rulings of 2025.
You’ll have 60 days to complete the course from the time you start (30 for the classroom portion and 30 for the shooting qualification). The range session consists of 25 rounds fired from approximately 15-21 feet at a target area. You must handle the firearm safely and hit 70% of consecutive shots in the center of mass. We have firearms available for those that do not have one yet.
This course is good for both: Your Minnesota permit and your Minnesota permit renewal. Once you order this product, we will send you the course via email within 24 Hours.
This course is taught by a certified instructor (Jason Shade) from a BCA approved organization. The same BCA approved courseware we deliver in our in-person courses is now available online for your convenience!
Out of state applicants can now take this portion of the course online before coming to Minnesota to complete the range exercise and to apply for your permits.

Requirements:
- You must have a fast Internet connection (DSL or better) and know how to operate a computer / use the internet.
- Our presentation plays on: Desktop PCs and Apple O/S, iPad, iPhone, Android phone and tablets!
- Students must also be of good moral character and not be disqualified under Minnesota law from owning firearms.
Process:
- Once we receive the order, we will then send you an e-mail with the instructions on how to access the online class. (please give us about 24 hours to fulfill the order)
- You have 30 days to complete the online portion of the class from the time you begin (or you have to start over).
- You have 30 days to take your shooting qualification from the time you complete the online portion of the class (or have prior approval).
- Follow the instructions and contact us when you have completed all modules.
