Instructor Course for the Minnesota MCPPA Permit to Carry (BCA Approved)

The “MCPPA Permit to Carry Instructor Course” covers everything necessary to become an Instructor.

The course covers theories about adult learning and how to prepare your curriculum and methodologies to teach adults. And of course, it covers our favorite topic: Firearms carry, Minnesota laws, the use of deadly force, record keeping requirements, and more! You’ll learn how to schedule and price your courses, and how to market them. Included with the course is access to may of our other online courses.

Phase One: Take our online Minnesota Carry Course and associated quizzes (Instructor candidates must score  100% on all quizzes). When you believe you understand the course curriculum and are ready to teach, you will schedule a day for your in person training session with us.

Phase Two – You take a one day Basic Instructor Course (BIC) (approx. 4-6 hours), and become certified by teaching the course to our satisfaction, demonstrating your speaking skills, knowledge and subject matter expertise.  You will also be required to run a range session with our students.

You must successfully complete the instruction portion of the course to be certified. This implies you have a better than average grasp on the legalities of our firearm laws and use of force laws, are able to communicate simple and complex subjects in a manner that others are able to comprehend, provide a professional appearance, and demonstrate superior speaking skills in front of an audience. You must pass a test to show you understand the curriculum, and also pass a shooting qualification that demonstrated you know the fundamentals and have them mastered. (you must be able to coach students)

IF YOU DO NOT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE ANY PORTION OF THE COURSE YOU WILL NOT BE CERTIFIED !

We include our own field tested and proven Minnesota Carry Course curriculum at no additional cost!  

Also required is an annual update class (at a small yearly fee) that keeps your certification fresh and current.

Prerequisites – the following must be met:

• Conduct in person Minnesota Carry Courses in accordance with policies and procedures outlined by Shade’s Landing Inc.
• Uphold the quality and integrity of the course content that you have been trained to; maintain your certification by attending a once a year Instructor update
• Maintain accurate records of students who train with you
• Get 10 hours of extra training per year on anything that will make you a better Permit to Carry Instructor.
